Smith & Gesteland Named Best Places to Work.
September 21, 2017
Madison Magazine’s Best Places to Work survey features 35 companies across a variety of industry sectors that range in employment base from 10 employees to more than 100. Smith & Gesteland won in the Medium (51-100 employees) category.
“It is an incredible honor to be ranked among this exceptional group of local companies,” said William M. Pellino, CPA, ABV, CVA, Managing Partner of the firm. “We are focused every day on employee growth and satisfaction. We strive to create an environment where top talent want to work and where clients seek our counsel. This honor is testament that those efforts are paying off.”
The survey, conducted by Quantum Workplace of Omaha, Nebraska, measures six areas of employee engagement: communications and resources, individual needs, manager effectiveness, personal engagement, team dynamics and trust in leadership. Companies in all three categories of small, medium and large scored high in the areas of trust in senior leadership and team dynamics.
“In these changing times, it’s clear that this year’s top companies are exploring ways to meet the needs of not only their businesses, but also their employees,” says Madison Magazine editor Karen Lincoln Michel. “The fact that trust in senior leadership is rated high seems to suggest that employees like the direction that their leaders are taking them.”
Earlier this year, the firm was named one of the Best Accounting Firms to Work For in the country by Accounting Today Magazine. They were the only firm in Wisconsin to be selected.
