March 23, 2017
U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan (WI-02) is pleased to announce that Middleton High School seniors Margaret Go and Trevaun Turner have been offered appointments to the Class of 2021 at the United States Military Academy at West Point. A third Middleton resident from Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District, 2016 Middleton graduate Jack Zocher has been offered an appointment to the Class of 2021 at the United States Air Force Academy.
“I am honored to recognize Margaret Go, Trevaun Turner and Jack Zocher, who have been accepted to attend our nation’s Service Academies,” said Rep. Pocan. “Margaret has demonstrated an intellect and dedication that will serve her well at the Military Academy and in military leadership thereafter.”
“Trevaun’s outstanding leadership experience and academic success will make him an excellent addition to West Point’s Corps of Cadets.”
“Jack’s demonstrated commitment to this pursuit makes him well suited for the challenges to come at the Air Force Academy.”
The students’ nomination process began with an evaluation by a board of volunteers comprised of 2nd Congressional District community leaders, including active and retired service members. The assembled board then recommended students for Rep. Pocan to nominate, including these three from Middleton. After the nomination process, the final admission decision was made by the individual United States Service Academies.
