Personalized Tutor Referral Service Raises the Grade Since 2007
November 28, 2017
A student’s success has never been more essential than it is today. Whether striving for an “A” in Algebra, a better understanding of time management and goal setting, or a higher ACT score, Raise The Grade® Tutoring helps students achieve academic success. Raise The Grade is a private tutoring company based in Middleton, Wisconsin that caters to the greater Madison area by matching qualified tutors to students and their specific needs. Since its inception in 2007, Raise The Grade has helped more than 700 families find academic success for their children.
The Benefits of Private Tutoring
Tutoring outside of the classroom is proven to elevate test scores and increase student confidence, but finding the right tutor for each child can be a challenge. Not only is private tutoring hard to come by at a reasonable rate, most often parents don’t know the background and qualifications of a tutor, nor can they guarantee that an individual will be a good fit for their child and his or her learning style.
Raise The Grade provides parents with the right supplementary academic solutions for their children by personally matching students with a qualified, professional tutor. Founder and Education Director, Cherie Schaaf, a certified teacher with a master’s degree in education, has more than 25 years of classroom experience with middle and high school students.
“I know first-hand the benefits that private tutoring can have on students when they are partnered with the right tutor,” said C. Schaaf. “I started Raise The Grade in 2007 because I saw a need for better tutoring options in the Madison community, and I wanted to pair students with experienced tutors, creating the most productive and positive match possible, as that match is what enables a student’s greater academic achievement.”
Quality and Convenience
Raise The Grade has assembled a team of private tutors in the greater Madison area and continuously recruits for the best and brightest talent. Tutors have expertise in all ages and subjects, kindergarten through 12th grade, with some even specializing in college-level academics as well as ACT and SAT preparation.
Before a tutor is matched with a student, the student’s individualized needs are discussed and goals are set. Dieter Schaaf, Cherie’s son, co-owner and education consultant who joined the company in 2016, explained, “Parents love that we consult with them to assess their child’s specific needs and personality before matching him or her with a Raise The Grade tutor. They know that the difference between a quick match and the right match can be monumental.”
Best yet, Raise The Grade tutors accommodate each family’s schedule and can come to their home, or at a mutually agreed upon location such as a local library or coffee shop, for every tutoring session. Parents don’t need to transport their child to a learning center, which makes the service even more convenient.
Looking to the Future
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Raise The Grade, and everyone involved has reason to celebrate. “Back in 2007, I couldn’t have imagined that we would be able to help so many families,” said C. Schaaf. “I feel honored to have been trusted for the last 10 years, and Dieter and I are thrilled to continue providing peace of mind for Madison families.”
“Our goal is to encourage the development of well-rounded students,” said D. Schaaf. “That means continuing to expand our areas of expertise and working with inspired tutors who want to help encourage learning both in and out of the classroom.”
