Ellen Carlson Accepts Role as MOM Interim Executive Director
July 25, 2017
Ellen Carlson, Communications and Marketing Manager, has assumed the role of Interim Executive Director at Middleton Outreach Ministry, and will serve in that position until a permanent Executive Director is chosen by the Board of Directors. Ellen has been with MOM since January of 2002, when she began as Office Manager, one of a staff of only five. Ellen was subsequently promoted to Operations Manager, a role in which she continued until 2010, when she took on the new position of Marketing and Communications Manager. Ellen has played an integral role in MOM's growth over the past decade.
Al Ripp, past Executive Director of Middleton Outreach Ministry, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2017. His legacy continues to radiate throughout our community, and also specifically at MOM through the hard work of the hundreds of volunteers, the staff and the Board of Directors.
"While this is a difficult time, MOM is continuing with our mission to prevent homelessness and end hunger. Our commitment to serving people who need assistance with basic needs is as strong as ever. We thank you for the outpouring of support as we move forward." said Ellen.
"The Board of Directors is very pleased that Ellen has agreed to step in to lead the organization during this important period for MOM." said Todd Smith, President of MOM's Board of Directors. "Ellen, and the entire staff at MOM, have the Board's full confidence as we continue to serve those in need in our community."
The Board of Directors has begun the process of identifying a permanent Executive Director to carry MOM into the future. The position will be posted widely throughout the community through the beginning of August with the help of The Employer Group. More information will be available at momhelps.org.
